Qi Gong

Qi Gong (also spelled Chi
Kung) literally means ‘energy work’. Qi Gong is the collective designation for
a vast array of traditional Chinese respiration and movement exercises, used
for self-healing, health preservation and meditation. In contrast to Taijiquan,
these exercises employ only few, relatively simple movements, and focus mostly
on the work with internal energy (Qi). Qi Gong is a traditional part of Chinese
martial arts – fighting in bad health is generally not a good idea – but also
enjoys great popularity as an autonomous set of exercises.

| We teach Chen style Taijiquan
(also known as Tai Chi Chuan or Shadow Boxing) and Qi Gong as means of health
development and preservation. Our training classes are based in Vienna, even
though we hold seminars and training camps outside the city as well. Classes
are exclusively held by qualified teachers (Paris Lainas, Claus Trska) who
continuously expand their knowledge and abilities. We founded our association in order to allow persons interested in
these arts to train with likeminded people in an enjoyable context. ‘Shū Jiàn’
in Chinese signifies ‘learning and practicing’. Each of these aspects taken for
itself is fruitless, only their interaction can spawn progress and true
realization, just as the principle of Yin and Yang teaches us. We constantly hold
beginner courses – if you are interested in our offer, please don’t hesitate to
join us during our regular training sessions. |
